I had to grab a letter and make that letter become a word that began with that letter. I work with C of Colour, my letter become colour strings and then it blurs into colour splashes that I made myself. It then becomes a stop motion. I choose to work with the philosopher Zizek and his argument on love. I found it quite profound and interesting. The reason why I chose to work with pink and black is because pink represents love and black (most of the time) represents hate, which would made them opposites in meaning. I also decided to go with Gill Sans because of the implications that he was a pedophile and somewhat also ties with the idea of love, sex and instincts. I mean it quite literally, but then how do things emerge? Here I feel a kind of spontaneous affinity with quantum physics where, you know, the idea there is that Universe is a void but a kind of a positively charge void, and then particular things appear when the balance of the void is disturbed. Some images of the illustrations were created (by Tim Singleton) according to the style already used in other brochures by Green Thumbs Up. The difficult part was to work via email and to try to come up with what the client wanted.
